Tahnee Ahtone

Tahnee Ahtone is a museum director, curator and scholar of Material Cultural Art and Textiles.
Ahtone (Ahtoneharjo-Growingthunder), is a curator, museum director, writer, and a leading authority in museum practice for Native North American art, as well as textile, costume design, and collections management. Ahtone serves museums, galleries, and project spaces across the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Throughout her twenty-five-year career as a museum professional, Ahtone has contributed to the First American Art Magazine, American Indian Culture and Research Journal, and Hyperallergic. She was honored by the Oklahoma Museum Association with the 2019 Award for Service to the Museum Profession, served as a 2020 Association for Art Museum Curators Mentorship Participant, and is a 2021 Center for Curatorial Leadership Fellow.
