RK Psychiatry Associates is a psychiatry practice with offices in Somerset, New Jersey, Mystic, Connecticut and telehealth services in Florida. Renée S. Kohanski, MD, a board-certified psychiatrist, is the owner of RK Psychiatry Associates. 

Dr. Kohanski takes a holistic and integrative approach to care, understanding that each patient has a unique medical and psychological situation. She incorporates all aspects of a patient’s life and medical history into a carefully considered diagnosis, taking the time to “get it right.”

At RK Psychiatry Associates, Dr. Kohanski specializes in mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and panic disorder. She’s also an anxiety and depression specialist. Plus, she provides second opinions and independent medical and forensic evaluations.

After earning her medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York, Dr. Kohanski completed an internship and residency training at Georgetown University Hospital, now MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, in Washington, DC. Dr. Kohanski continued her training at the University of Southern Carolina School of Medicine, completing a forensic psychiatry fellowship. 

In addition to private practice psychiatry, Dr. Kohanski worked as an attending physician at Georgia Regional Hospital in Augusta and Savannah, Georgia, and Whiting Forensic Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut. 

 

With more than 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Kohanski has extensive expertise in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy and its interface with medicine.
