Katz Medical Group: Jacob Katz, MD

Jacob Katz, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in non-surgical orthopedics, adult and pediatric sports medicine, and interventional pain medicine. He offers comprehensive care for patients of all ages and levels of athleticism in two convenient locations. His approach is to educate his patients about their bodies, conditions, and treatment options while working to guide them through recovery. Dr. Katz welcomes patients at either his office in Brooklyn, New York, or Manalapan, New Jersey.

Among his experience, Dr. Katz has completed fellowship training in Sports Medicine and Non-Surgical Orthopedic Medicine at Bayfront Health Medical Center and Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Michigan.

Dr. Katz has served as a team physician for NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II colleges, multiple high schools, professional soccer teams, and hockey teams. He currently volunteers to cover triathlons, running races, and is an appointed ring-side physician for professional boxing and mixed martial arts (MMA). 

Additionally, Dr. Katz has been an attending physician at some of the most respected practices in New York, including CITY MD, One Medical Group, Maimonides Medical Center, and NY Arthritis and Sports Medicine Clinic. In addition to his office in Brooklyn, Dr. Katz is now a leader in sports medicine in Monmouth County, providing personalized, state-of-the-art, and evidence-based medical care.

Dr. Katz believes that patients improve when they actively participate in their care. His goal as a physician is to help identify the unique needs of each patient and correct the root cause of their problems.  Through active listening, Dr. Katz customizes his treatment options that that are right for his patients while educating them about their specific condition

Dr. Katz also enjoys breaking down pathophysiology and complicated medication mechanisms of action for patients to understand using simple, easy-to-understand language along with diagrams and pictures. When he's not working, Dr. Katz enjoys spending time with his family,  playing sports such as basketball, hockey, training in martial arts and cycling.
