Rainpuddle's Labradoodles

Many people think of a Labradoodle or an American Labradoodle as a hybrid between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle when they hear the name. Labradoodles are a surprisingly diversified breed. The infusion of the Cocker Spaniel into the Labradoodle's lineage is the fundamental difference between the Labradoodle and the Australian Labradoodle.In the 1970s, a visually impaired woman in Hawaii submitted a request to the Australian Guide Dog Association for an allergy-friendly dog. She chose Australia due to their strict quarantining laws, and dogs exported from Hawaii will require no US quarantine. Australian breeder Dr. Wally Conron bred a Labrador retriever and a poodle for the non-shedding coat and service dog-like temperament, resulting in the Labradoodle.
