It's not about making money, you never will. It's a labor of love. To have a car to keep, it has to have a connection to your youth. For some it was their HOT WHEELS, a family members car (frequently called Bettsie), a neighbor's car, a car you saw around town. That first truck you took up the fire road into the woods. I can go back and name every car that left its impression on me starting with first one. It is an obsession to many.
