After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, Dr. Sood received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Suwanee, Georgia. 
He completed a traditional rotating internship at Northside Hospital Heart Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida, then finished a primary residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Sood went on to finish his postgraduate training by completing a fellowship in interventional pain and sports medicine at the prestigious Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, New York. 
He is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and has a subspecialty certification in pain management.
