Aubrey L. Carpenter, PhD, Clinical Psychologist

Aubrey Carpenter, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist at the UVM Medical Center. She supports a range of clinical concerns, including eating disorders (such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and avoidant and restrictive food intake disorder), anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder. Her services include assessment, consultation, individual psychotherapy, family therapy and group therapy. 

Dr. Carpenter strives to help patients and their families feel comfortable and supported in what can often be busy and overwhelming medical settings. She takes a patient-centered, collaborative approach to understanding the patient and family system's strengths as well as areas in need of additional support to help them through a difficult time.  

While trained in many evidence-based approaches to assessment and intervention for children and families, she recognizes that there is not always a “one size fits all” approach, and that variability in resources in the state of Vermont requires providers to be creative at times. She enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams and helping adolescents get back to the things they love.
