MaryClaire McGovern, PT, Physical Therapist

MaryClaire McGovern is a physical therapist at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She specializes in neurologic rehabilitation, aquatic rehabilitation, geriatrics, falls/balance, pediatrics, orthopedics, and sports rehab. She treats patients with for Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), musculoskeletal pain and provides after-surgery care.

Her research interests include novice physical therapist mentoring programs, and cross-country skiing injuries.MaryClaire is inspired by the people she works with. She enjoys guiding them to set their own goals and watching them discover their strengths and capabilities.

She believes physical therapy is most successful when working as a team- client and provider- using collective knowledge to develop the best plan for that individual to optimize their function and quality of life, and maintain those gains after physical therapy. She also believes in keeping things fun and feels lucky to be able to help people get back to a place where movement and exercise are enjoyable again.
