Laura Elizabeth Murray, MD

Dr. Laura E. Murray is a pediatric cardiologist based in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Dr. Murray was born and raised in South Carolina, where she attended Wofford College and earned a degree in Biology followed by medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. She then traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, where she completed her pediatrics residency at Vanderbilt University. She returned to the Medical University of South Carolina to complete her pediatric cardiology fellowship. She is thrilled to be staying in South Carolina and joining the Medical University of South Carolina as an assistant professor.

Dr. Murray’s clinical interests include a focus on general pediatric cardiology, specifically caring for patients of all ages, from infancy through adolescence and into young adulthood. She participated in MUSC’s Transitions Clinic during her three years of fellowship training and developed special skills for educating adolescent patients on their heart disease and what it means for their future, while helping them to take ownership of their health and heart condition. She also enjoys caring for patients before and after heart surgery and helping families through that journey. She is excited to become an active member of the Murrells Inlet community while providing specialized care to the area.
