All patients have beliefs regarding their health. A good physician interacts with their patients within the context of their belief system and shares with them his or her medical knowledge. If my suggestions and treatments make sense to the patient, they will become part of the patient's belief system. When this happens, medical and surgical therapies are much more effective.
