Tim Coombs and his father Terry Coombs have been making staircases for the last 25 years together. Both being involved in metalwork and engineering previously, they joined forces, originally to make lifts in their small rented workshop in the heart of Cambridgeshire. They were approached one day to provide a quotation for a full metal staircase and metal balustrading for a new business development in the centre of London. This project paved the way to start a new fabrication service of manufacturing and the site fitting of steel stairs and to move away from the lift industry where the work was getting harder to come by for smaller companies . We moved to a bigger premises where we could manufacture the stairs in long sections in the workshop and expand our fabrication facilities .
