Kara Choate, MD

Kara Karlak Choate, M.D., joined TUCC in August 2020. She completed her Urology Residency and General Surgery Internship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. She practices general Urology and has special interest and training in percutaneous kidney stone surgery, endoscopic treatment of prostate enlargement, prosthetic urology, and the evaluation and treatment of female urologic issues.

Dr. Choate earned her Doctorate in Medicine at University of Texas Health Science Center School of Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. There she was the recipient of several recognitions including the Jack R. Robinson Endowed Scholarship in Urology and the award for Excellence in Genitourinary Surgery. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from Texas A&M University where she graduated Cum Laude. In her free time, she enjoys the yoga, hiking, good food, and spending time with family.
