Michael A. Akerman, M.D.

Dr. Michael Akerman is a Fellow in Regional and Thoracic Anesthesiology at Weill Cornell. Dr. Akerman comes to WCMC most recently from Montefiore Medical Center where he completed his Residency in Anesthesiology.Born in Brooklyn, Dr. Akerman attended the City University of New York, Brooklyn College; he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2006, summa cum laude. He attended medical school at Yeshiva University’s Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Akerman did his internship at the Jacobi Medical Center in The Bronx, before moving to Montefiore for his Residency. Michael now calls Riverdale, NY home, and he lives there with his wife and daughter.
