Rachel Wilmot, NP, is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

"I come from a family of educators, but my interest in health and science steered me in a different direction. Helping the critically ill and their families is most rewarding, but I realized a special piece of nursing is educating others to be aware of what they can do to help themselves.

"I want patients to understand their disease processes and learn ways they can help themselves. My interest in the medical field has been an evolving process, but the focus has always been on helping others."
