Yara Castillo

My name is Yara Castillo. I graduated with a BA in Psychology and an MEd in Counseling from the University of Houston. I practice from a client-centered approach. I feel like clients come to therapy to feel understood, listened to, and form a connection with another person. I also understand that people have strengths and can be empowered to make their own decisions for themselves. I feel as if people are in control of their lives and can make the best decisions for themselves, but much of that strength and courage to make those decisions has been pushed down by the daily stresses of life. I am here to help you find and rebuild that strength and validate your experience as a human. I have experience working in private practice, outpatient partial hospitalization programs, and inpatient hospital setting working with people with chronic mental illness.
