Dr. Choucino was recently chosen as the recipient of the Laureate Award from the Louisiana Chapter of the American College of Physicians. This award honors those who have led by example in their unwavering commitment to excellence in medical care, education, research and service to their community.
In 1996 he was instrumental in bringing the first clinic for the care of HIV/AIDS patients to southwest Louisiana, the Comprehensive Care Clinic. This clinic remains open to care for the community at Moss Memorial Health Clinic.
