Yuji Kaku, MD is a cardiac surgeon and surgical director of the cardiogenic shock program at Columbia. Dr. Kaku earned his medical degree from Tohoku University in Japan. After finishing a cardiovascular surgery residency at Tokyo Women’s Medical University in Tokyo, he came to the US to continue his cardiac surgery training and complete fellowships in heart transplant and LVAD at Texas Heart Institute, Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Columbia University.
