Monica was born in Boston after her parents arrived in the U.S from their homeland Dominican Republic. She graduated from Miami Dade College with her Associate degree in nursing in 2005, where she later returned for her Bachelor’s degree. Her nursing degree began in medical surgical nursing, but her true passion ignited in 2015, when she helped open the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson South in Miami, Florida.
