The incidence of both melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers is on the rise; at the same time, our ability to treat skin cancers has vastly improved. Today there are many strategies for treating skin cancers which include radiation and light based therapy, topical and systemic chemotherapy, conventional surgery, and Mohs micrographic surgery, a highly effective treatment modality for skin cancers with aggressive behavior or located in cosmetically sensitive areas.
