Phillip A. Stetler, DO

My father was a general surgeon in a small town in Southwestern Virginia, and I was fortunate enough to see the huge, positive impact he was able to have in the community. I have always wanted to share in that experience and am very lucky to have that opportunity and share the same passion for caring for people. My philosophy of care is to take care of your patients. You need to understand not only the condition but also the wants and needs of the patient. The same treatment approach is not right for every patient. My areas of special interest include total joint replacement, sports medicine, trauma and fracture care. I spent an extra year after residency learning about disorders of the shoulder and appreciate the unique challenges that the joint presents. Outside of work, my family and I love to travel and spend time outdoors. Any chance we get to go explore the world is time well spent.
