I decided to become a Family Nurse Practitioner because my interests have always included health and wellness. At an early age, I enjoyed learning to maximize my personal health and welfare. I love talking to people about their habits and lifestyles and found that primary care is the perfect place for me to practice that on a regular basis. My approach to patient care is to respect patient autonomy more than anything and see it as my position to inform patients of risks, benefits and general guidelines. I enjoy having open discussions with people to find the best management options for them. I enjoy all things primary care, and generalized medicine allows each day to be different. I am especially interested in health maintenance, management of chronic conditions and mental health. Outside of work, I love traveling, hiking and the outdoors, listening to live music, and spending time with my husband, dog and newborn son.
