Paul A. Mattera, PA-C

I grew up in New Jersey. In my early years, I became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)-Paramedic while completing my undergraduate degree in Rhode Island and advanced degree in Philadelphia. My father, a family physician in New Jersey, helped me towards a career as a Physician Assistant (Advance Practice Provider). My field challenges my medical decision-making and treatment abilities. I enjoy helping people, developing a rapport, and providing compassionate care for my patients and families. I have a homeopathic approach to preventive medicine, including immunology, and believe every patient should actively participate in their own healthcare and welcome those challenges. My areas of special interest include emergency medicine, orthopedics, sports medicine, joint injections, adolescence health, hormone replacement therapy, immunology, male health, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), pediatrics and gastroenterology. Outside of work, I enjoy sports, physical fitness, travel to the beach and mountains, boating/sailing, and spending time with family and friends.
