Dr. Griffin earned his medical degree and completed his General Surgery residency training at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. During his residency training, he also completed a 2-year research fellowship in pathobiology at Johns Hopkins studying pancreatic cancer and pancreatic cystic neoplasms. He finalized his formal surgical training with an additional 2-year fellowship in Complex General Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He is double board certified in general surgery and surgical oncology by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Griffin’s clinical focus is surgical oncology, including cancers of the liver, pancreas, stomach, and small intestine. He specializes in malignancies of the liver, pancreas, and biliary tract with a particular interest in colorectal liver metastases, pancreatic cancer, and pancreatic cystic neoplasms. He is trained in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic and laparoscopic surgery. As a surgical oncologist, he believes strongly in the coordinated, multidisciplinary care of patients with cancer. Dr. Griffin is originally from Waynesboro, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia for his undergraduate studies and is an avid Georgia football fan. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and UGA athletics.
