At his practice serving the South Hills and Greater Pittsburgh, Board Certified general surgeon Clarence Lin, MD, strives to provide expert, personable care for patients whose disease is challenging their health and wellness.
Dr. Lin earned his medical degree from New York University Grossman School of Medicine in New York City, then went to Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, for his general surgery residency. He expanded his expertise by completing a surgical fellowship at the prestigious Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Lin believes in providing thoughtful, respectful care for patients with disorders requiring surgery and feels passionate about solving medicine's anatomical and structural challenges. He views surgical consultations with his patients as a collaboration to develop an understanding of the condition that's causing the problem and a treatment plan that matches their individual needs and situation.
As a fully trained general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery techniques, Dr. Lin chooses the latest generation da Vinci Xi® robotic surgery technology to perform many of his surgeries. However, patients need not fear that Dr. Lin will coerce them into having an operation. He promotes the use of non-surgical treatments, observation, and supportive techniques as well as surgery, selecting the option that best suits the patient's needs and wishes.
