Laser Vein MedSpa: Neil Jones, MD

Neil Jones, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with the American Board of Surgery. He has broad expertise in general surgery with specific areas of interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, colon surgery, gallbladder surgery, and hernia repair. Dr. Jones offers an array of services at Laser Vein MedSpa with offices in Morehead City or Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Dr. Jones takes pride in practicing conservative surgical principles and getting patients back to their full potential using minimally invasive techniques. He strives to provide the best possible surgical therapy for his patients compassionately.
Dr. Jones completed his General Surgery residency at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was recognized as resident teacher of the year and was also given the excellence in research award for his work on colon cancer treatment. He graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine as an Edward J Holyoke scholar and completed his undergraduate degree at Creighton University magna cum laude.
After residency, Dr. Jones began his surgical career as a general/trauma surgeon in the US Air Force. He had the honor of serving during the height of the post 9-11 area and deployed to Afghanistan, where he worked at a high-volume trauma hospital. Dr. Jones' time in the military also involved specialized CCATT missions where he led surgeons on flights to bring our most critically wounded soldiers home to the USA from overseas. After his military career, Dr. Jones practiced as an acute care surgeon for several years before opening Laser Vein MedSpa.
Dr. Jones has extensive training and experience in varicose vein therapy, and he works to stay on the cutting edge of treatment protocols for symptomatic and cosmetic varicose vein disease. He is also highly trained in medical and cosmetic laser therapy. Dr. Jones is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Outside of the office, Dr. Jones can be found at the beach, on the water, enjoying seafood, exploring historical places, or fishing. He grew up in rural Nebraska on the family farm, which contributed to his appreciation for the great outdoors. Dr. Jones is a dedicated husband and father of three wonderful children. Together, he and his family enjoy coastal North Carolina to the fullest.
