In 1987, Austinites Leonard and Dottie Strickler had the American dream of starting a business here in Central Texas that would allow them to support their family and the community they grew up in. Leonard’s experience in water filtration sales and seeing the positive difference water quality made for his clients became a passion which made starting American Water in 1987 the perfect fit. Since then, American Water has been supplying Austin / Central Texas area home and business owners with quality water solutions for well and city water. In 1997, American Water decided that in order to provide the best solutions we had to expand our product line. We didn’t have to look far, right here in the USA was Kinetico Water Systems founded in Newberry, OH in 1970 where our products are still made and manufactured today.
