ABOUT SUMMER BROWN
Summer Brown, PMHNP, CDP, is an experienced nurse practitioner who specializes in geriatric psychiatry and wellness. She provides personalized mental health services for older adults at her private practice, Gerontologi, in Mission Viejo, California.
Summer completed both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in nursing at the National University in San Diego, California. While working on her advanced degree in nursing, Summer completed a licensed vocational nursing program at Pacific College in Costa Mesa, California.
She’s highly credentialed as a board-certified psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), certified dementia care practitioner (CDP), and certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP®). Summer has extensive experience in psychiatric care in the inpatient and outpatient settings. She specializes in psychiatric mental health, geriatric behavioral health, Alzheimer’s and dementia, transitional care management, medical care team coordination, psychotherapy, and medication management.
Through her concierge geriatric psychiatry practice, Summer provides in-home and telehealth visits, working closely with her patients, their families, and other health care providers.
A native of Southern California, Summer is well-rooted in the community. When not taking care of her own patients, Summer spends her free time volunteering at local residential assisted living facilities.
Summer also enjoys photography, crocheting, playing poker, music, cooking, and entertaining. She’s also a sports enthusiast and fan of the Lakers and the Dodgers, as well as the sports teams at Santa Margarita High School in Rancho Margarita, California.
Summer lives on a farm with her three children, partner, and their Goldendoodles, chickens, cats, rabbits, and fish.
