Hugo Espinosa, MD, is a psychiatrist in private practice at Paradigm Shift. He is proud to offer a wide range of psychiatry services to patients in Ocala, Florida.
He was born in Queens, New York, and served in the United States Army from 1987-1991. Dr. Espinosa received his medical degree in 1997 from the Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Espinosa trained in psychiatry at The Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center (Bronx Care Health System), a teaching affiliate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University in New York City. In 2014, he was Chief Resident for Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, Florida, where he completed his psychiatry residency training.
Dr. Espinosa is fluent in Spanish and has prior work experience as a Spanish interpreter. He is well versed in acupuncture, Chinese herbology, psychotherapy and other modalities of traditional Chinese medicine. He has also worked as a medical instructor and has been a principal investigator in psychiatric research and a speaker for Allergen. Dr. Espinosa has most recently worked in private practice and group practice in Florida.
Dr. Espinosa is a member of The American Psychiatry Association, Florida Psychiatric Society, American Medical Association, as well as an invitation-only member of Harvard’s Presidential Club at Copley Plaza. He also holds a master’s in evidence-based medicine and research design.
