Michael Tierney, Robertson Stephens

Mike Tierney is a Principal and Managing Director at Robertson Stephens. Mike acts as an advisor to family offices and families considering one. His clients get the benefits of having a family office without building one of their own. Mike’s practice is comprehensive in scope. While his business is anchored in delivering leading-edge investment management and planning solutions to his clients, the core competency inside Robertson Stephens, he also coordinates with leading outside professionals in the various non-investment service areas where needed for clients. The goal is to provide non-investment family office services (estate planning, accounting, philanthropic consulting, insurance, etc.) that square with the best practices in those respective categories and match the level of sophistication brought to bear on their investment portfolios. As a result, clients finally have the experience of a one stop solution without limiting the intellectual pool they draw from for all their family wealth needs.

Mike has over 38 years of experience in the financial services industry and specifically family wealth management. Mike was previously with Salomon Brothers and Montgomery Securities in New York. Before Robertson Stephens, Mike was Managing Director and senior member of The Presidio Group’s wealth advisory business in San Francisco.

Mike earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University. He is married with four children and lives in New York City.
