Joseph Besho, MD, MS

Joseph Besho, MD is a vascular surgeon who specializes in aortic surgery, carotid and cerebrovascular disease at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. Dr. Besho completed medical school at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark during which time he was a Humanism Scholar and recipient of a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholarship. He went on to complete his Vascular Surgery Residency at McGovern Medical School at UT Houston. My approach to solving complex cardiovascular conditions extends far beyond treating just the disease, said Besho. I take a holistic and individualized approach toward helping each patient through medical management, endovascular or open surgery, with a focus on caring for each individual as a person and not an illness. Besho™s academic research interests include aortic, ceratoid and vascular access issues. He is an active member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and the Vascular and Endovascular Surgical Society. In his spare time, Dr. Besho enjoys playing golf (a favorite sport since he was 5 years old) and is getting settled in Houston with his new wife and their mini golden doodle.
