Hassan Makki, DO, FACC, is an experienced cardiologist at CICC in Gilbert, Phoenix, and Tempe, Arizona.
Dr. Makki moved to Phoenix after completing his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship through Michigan State University’s state-wide campus program at Garden City Hospital. After treating hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and rhythm disorders for five years through his general cardiology practice, he returned to the catheterization laboratory for further training. He completed an additional interventional fellowship at St. John Hospital in Macomb, Michigan. There, he trained in both coronary and peripheral interventions utilizing the newest techniques with state-of-the-art technologies and equipment.
Dr. Makki strives for a holistic approach to patient care that starts with an honest conversation about the patient's individual needs and expectations. Dr. Makki believes in combining tried and true remedies with cutting-edge technologies in order to help patients achieve the best possible outcome. He is a strong proponent of preventive cardiology and medicine, advocating for living a healthy lifestyle. He believes in coupling daily exercise and consuming fresh, unaltered foods with directed medication use when necessary.
He has particular interests in peripheral vascular disease and specializes in the treatment of both arterial and venous disorders. Dr. Makki has extensive experience in treating both deep and superficial venous disorders with a multitude of minimally invasive, and often painless, techniques. Dr. Makki is also now proud to be part of the Limb Salvage Program at CICC. This program is nationally recognized and has prevented the amputation of hundreds of limbs by restoring arterial blood flow to critical limbs.
