Meet Dr. Nkrumah
Louis Nkrumah, MD, PhD, is an esteemed neurosurgeon at Nkrumah Neurosurgery & Spine in Lake Success, New York. He provides advanced care for conditions affecting the brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. 
Dr. Nkrumah brings a well-rounded, thoughtful, and personalized approach to patient care. His expertise spans complex and minimally invasive spine surgery, including spinal robotics and endoscopic spine surgery.
Having attained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees within four years at Yale University, Dr. Nkrumah earned his medical degree and PhD at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He received a Dean’s Award at Einstein and the David Everett Chandler Award, among numerous honors, at Yale. He completed two years of residency in otolaryngology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital before moving to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where he completed his neurological surgery residency. He then went on to complete his fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Nkrumah is a member of both the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He is also a member of the Scoliosis Research Society.
While demonstrating excellence in neurosurgery, Dr. Nkrumah has also authored publications in microbiology, immunology, and genetics. 
In addition to English, Dr. Nkrumah speaks Twi, an Akan language of Ghana. He enjoys soccer, martial arts, and outdoor activities with family and friends.
