Leroy S. Darkes, MD

I have dedicated the majority of my practice career providing care to elderly or senior patients, but I also enjoy caring for my younger contemporaries (the children of seniors). I am just as much a medical educator as a clinician and have great passion for helping people understand and actively participate in optimizing their health care utilization and outcomes. My prime objective is to assist my patients in being safe and staying safe, emphasizing preventive interventions. I engage with my community as much as possible in an effort to increase medical literacy and create informed consumers of healthcare. I firmly believe it is not who or what we are but what we know and what we do that ultimately makes the difference in achieving optimal healthcare outcomes.
