I have always been told that ever since I could talk, I would say that I wanted to become doctor. However, it wasnt until I watched my aunt suffer with Lupus that I realized my desire to help cure those suffering with different diseases. Ultimately, my decision to become a physician stemmed from my faith and the desire to serve in a capacity much bigger than myself. It truly is a calling and a privilege. I am an advocate for each patient that I encounter and treat every patient the same way that I would like to be treated. Many times, patients come to the doctors office afraid and vulnerable. I take my time with each patient to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Listening to patients creates trust and helps to promote a healthy patient-physician rapport. I not only treat the specific condition that each patient presents with, but the whole patient, as this can have an impact on postoperative outcomes. I enjoy the variety of general surgery, but my interests include the gastrointestinal tract, breast surgery and endoscopic procedures. I enjoy baking, spending time with friends and family, and playing with my dog, Rico.
