Kathy Sue Higgins, CNM, MS

I have been a Registered Nurse since 1978 and a Certified Nurse Midwife since 1992. I came to UNC after retiring from the United States Air Force following 20 years of service. I began the Midwifery Practice at UNC and am an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives, the North Carolina American College of Nurse Midwives and the Midwifery Business Network. I grew up in the greater Chicago, IL area and lived in multiple cities and countries while in the Air Force. I am an advocate for women's and children's healthcare with a firm belief that women should have an active role in their own healthcare and a choice in their healthcare decisions.
