I chose to become a family nurse practitioner because I am passionate about giving back to the community on an individual level. I have always had a keen interest in science and love meeting new people. As a provider, I aspire to work with the patient together in partnership to reach his or her health goals. From working in the emergency department, my approach to patient care is to treat the person behind the patient. I believe in caring for the person in a holistic context, treating their health across the lifespan to maximize their wellness outcomes and goals. My area of special interest is orthopaedics and sports medicine. I was a dancer, a martial artist and currently teach fitness, so I have always had a passion in anatomy, health and wellness. To this end, orthopaedics was the perfect match between my interests and aspirations. Outside of work, I like to be active and enjoy physical fitness, not only in the gym but also outside (hikes, biking). I also like to crochet, cross stitch, read and write poetry.
