Even at a young age, I was very interested in biology. I am a ˜people person and enjoy helping people. Medicine allows me to use my love of physiology and anatomy to meet and care for others. I decided on Obstetrics and Gynecology because I can have a relationship with my patients on a reoccurring basis as in primary care. As well, I can do surgical procedures, which I love to do. My philosophy of care is that the patient is a participant in their care and overall health. I believe in and stress preventive medicine. I spend time educating patients on preventive medicine such as self-breast exams. By educating our patients, some will be more compliant if they understand why we are asking them to do certain things. For example, seeing a dietician to learn what and how much they can eat “ instead of just giving a handout. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and baking. I like to invite friends over for food and wine. I enjoy traveling to other countries and learning about their cultures.
