I chose to become a Nurse Practitioner because I am passionate about helping people and continuity of care. I enjoy being able to build therapeutic relationships with my patients and their family members. Being a Nurse Practitioner allows me to have a positive impact on my patients health and the community. My approach to patient care is to treat every patient like a family member. As a provider, I want to always deliver high-quality care, and I want my patients to know that I have their best interest at heart. I do not want to just treat my patients, but I want to make sure they are educated about their health and the importance of taking care of themselves physically, mentally and spiritually. I look at patients holistically, and I want to ensure we work together to have a plan in place to help them achieve optimal health. My special area of interest is hypertension management. Hypertension is also known as the silent killer and affects many people today. As a provider, it is my duty to educate my patients about this threat to their health and the importance of knowing their numbers. My goal is to help my patients achieve optimal health whether it be through counseling, lifestyle modifications or with prescription medications. Outside of work, I enjoy spending most of my free time with my family and friends. Physical health is important to me so you can easily find me in the gym or outdoors during warmer months. My favorite thing to do is travel - I love experiencing different cultures. Traveling exposes you to new types of people and different ways of living.
