Michelle E. Klawiter-Benton, MD

I became a doctor to combine a career that is intellectually challenging and emotionally rewarding, to help alleviate suffering and to be able to help improve the health and well-being of individuals and my community. I enjoy caring for the multi-generational family, from infancy through the elderly, promoting healthy activity and dietary habits for children and adolescents, and managing and motivating change for chronic conditions including diabetes and hypertension. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my three young children at the pool or park. We love being outside and enjoying nature. I also enjoy cheering on the Tar Heels, camping and traveling.
