Leigh Ann Browne, MSW, LCSW

I was drawn to social work because I wanted a career that was fulfilling and aligned with my values. I wanted to help my community and enhance the lives of others. Social workers enhance human well-being and help meet the basic human needs of all people, paying particular attention to the needs and empowerment of people who are vulnerable, oppressed and living in poverty. Social workers also promote social justice and social change with, and on behalf of, their clients. My approach is to teach and assist individuals with discovering ways to promote change within themselves through improved insight and the development of effective and practical coping skills. I believe that transformation and growth can occur within anyone, despite how complex their circumstances are. My care is rooted in compassion and collaboration serving as the bridge between where the client currently is and where they want to be. My areas of clinical interest include mood disorders, anxiety and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I love being outdoors, and I spend a lot of time hiking and exploring local, state and national parks.
