I want my patients to describe me as responsible, empathetic and patient. My work in human development, especially early childhood development, sparked an interest in psychiatry and developmental psychology that led me to pursuing the field of advanced practice nursing with a focus on psychiatric and mental health care. People are much more than a set of symptoms and test results and I consider the whole person when working with an individual's mental health. In considering the whole person, their environment and their motivating symptoms, we can work together to find effective treatments tailored to the client's individual needs.
