Pervez Ahmed Alvi, MD

Pervez Alvi, MD, FACC, is a board-certified Cardiologist and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Alvi earned his medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in Cardiology at Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago, IL. To continue his medical education, Dr. Alvi participated in a fellowship in Cardiology at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, IL.

Patients ages 18 and above can visit Dr. Alvi for all conditions of the heart and vascular system. He treats heart attacks, congestive heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, ventricular tachycardia, aortic stenosis, aortic regurgitation, mitrial valve disorders, atrial fibrillation, high cholesterol disorders, aortic valve disorders, cardiomyopathies and many other diagnoses. Additionally, Dr. Alvi has a special interest in Echocardiography, pacemaker implantation and Nuclear cardiac imaging. Dr. Alvi helps his patients alleviate the symptoms of heart disease and improve their quality of life. He treats high blood pressure, swelling, lightheadedness and fainting spells. Dr. Alvi’s patient care philosophy is centered on listening to patients, giving them adequate time to address their concerns. He treats all of his patients with empathy, as if they were his own family members. He takes great care and consideration before prescribing treatments and medications, making sure that each patient receives the minimum intervention necessary.
