The Transition for Living facility are apartment units designed for sober living and a drug free environment. Since 1985 we have helped persons to transition back into society and be a productive citizen. Our facility is available for adult male ex-offenders and male persons on probation/parole along with other male persons seeking an environment that offer the opportunity for sober living. Transition For Living has a contract with the NMCD for persons being released from prison along with offering transitional housing to Pre-Trial services for the courts and district attorney offices, U.S. Federal Probation, and the male public in general to transition from a life of criminality or addictive issues. All residents are screened, and background checks are performed to see that we have a qualified applicant. Depending on the type of need and source of referral residents are separated by type. We do not take sex-offenders or minors. We have on site management 24/7, security cameras, and secured entrances to the facility. All residents are issued an FOB key to track entering and leaving the facility. All units are fully furnished with HD large screen TV’s and wi-fi. Rooms are on the average medium to large shared (2 person) bedrooms. In addition, there is a recreation room that offers exercise equipment, pool table, ping pong table, and large screen TV. Rules are designed to meet the individual needs and or confirm to law enforcement restrictions if applicable. No visitors are allowed to visit the facility. TFL (Transition For Living) has been operating since 1985 and has been only for persons on probation or parole. In 2021 TFL decided to open the facility to other applicants both coming from either the public or private sector. We are located on a major street and public transportation along with multiple employment opportunities are in the immediate vicinity. In 2019 TFL started a 1-million-dollar remodel project and most all units are total remodeled apartments along with new furniture and beds. Our vision is for each of our residents to become productive, taxpaying, law abiding members of society. Our mission is to enhance public safety by providing returning citizens with housing and opportunities to make a smooth transition into society. Our Transitional Living Program functions as a place to provide Residents the skills necessary to transition back into the community. This program is a program of personal responsibility –meaning you will get out of it what you put into it. Our guidelines, rules, expectations, and procedures are in place to enhance public safety and to ensure resident’s safety, health and overall well-being. Our capacity is 110 beds and we are one of the largest facilities in the state.
