First Command Financial Advisor - Matt Anderson

Matt Anderson joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in April 2021, following a 27-year career in the United States Army, where he attained the rank of Colonel. Matt understands the challenges and opportunities associated with life in the military and is committed to helping service members and their families get their financial lives squared away.

Matt has a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership from the United States Military Academy and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University. He holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Kansas and Missouri.

Understanding that the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behavior, Matt serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. He advocates time-tested financial principles, including disciplined, long-term saving and investing, careful debt management, and a thoughtful insurance strategy to manage financial risk. Matt will work with you to establish specific, meaningful goals that are consistent with your values and then develop a personalized financial plan to guide your pursuit of those goals.

Active in his community, Matt is a member of the Kansas City Chapter of Financial Executives International and a cofounder of the Greater Kansas City Veterans Career Fair.

In his free time, Matt enjoys spending time with family, spending time with friends, and working out.
