Meet James W. Ratcliff, DPM
James W. Ratcliff, DPM, is a caring and compassionate podiatrist who sees patients at his office in Los Gatos, California. He takes a whole-body approach to foot and ankle health, and provides care plans that take into account nutrition, supplements, and footwear.
A Los Gatos native, Dr. Ratcliff received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 1991. He completed his residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Los Angeles in 1992.
An avid triathlete for over 30+ years, Dr. Ratcliff specializes in running-related injuries. He completed the California Ironman in 2000. He also has run several marathons, including Boston and New York. Dr. Ratcliff has suffered many of the common overuse injuries he treats daily. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to rapid recovery, and he strives to get his patients "up and running" as quickly as possible. He also implements the latest medical advancements for treatment, including Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT) for plantar fasciitis and SWIFT microwave therapy for warts.
Dr. Ratcliff maintains membership with the American Podiatric Medical Association, California Podiatric Medical Association, American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, and Silicon Valley Podiatric Medical Society. He is the Chief of Podiatry Services at Stanford Hospital, and he is also affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital, Silicon Valley Surgery Center, Waverly Surgery Center, and Bascom Surgery Center.
Dr. Ratcliff lives in Los Gatos and has two adult sons. He enjoys surfing, skiing, and relaxing with his family.
