Shital Shah

Shital Shah, DO is a member of Summit Health's Neurology team. Dr. Shah treats a variety of neurological disorders ranging from migraines to stroke and specializes in movements disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, chorea, and dystonia. She performs Botox injections to treat migraines, sialorrhea, hemifacial spasm, dystonia, and spasticity. She has expertise in deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson's disease and essential tremor. DBS is a surgical procedure that eases motor symptoms and decreases medication needs.<br />

Dr. Shah stays up-to-date on current research and new approaches to treat chronic conditions. She enjoys the science of medicine and helping patients understand why they have the symptoms they do. “It is crucial to determine what affects my patients’ overall quality of life so I can work with them and other members of their health care team to achieve the best possible health outcomes,” she says.<br />

When she is not working with patients, Dr. Shah enjoys spending time and traveling with her children and husband, learning about other cultures, going to the gym, and meeting new people - anything that helps her connect with others and ultimately contributes to her growth as a physician.
