Prime Pulmonary & Sleep Center (PPSC), is Kern County’s newest and most comprehensive Pulmonary and Sleep Center. PPSC has two convenient locations in Bakersfield and Delano, California.
Led by Pramil Vaghasia, MD, and Ruchi Bansal, MD, the entire practice commits itself to listen to each person and provide the information they need to make the best treatment decisions for their unique needs. PPSC offers comprehensive care and specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with all types of Lung and Sleep disorders. PPSC also provides expertise in the management of critically-ill patients in the hospital setting.
Prime Pulmonary & Sleep Center is proud to have the full accreditation of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). This accreditation is the gold standard for sleep centers. It means that the doctors provide the highest quality of sleep medicine, including an on-site sleep lab for sleep studies.
Along with supervised in lab sleep studies, they provide home sleep testing, as well as MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Testing). Then each patient receives ongoing care such as CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) and various other treatments used for sleep disorders. The doctors frequently treat Obstructive sleep apnea, Central Sleep Apnea, Insomnia, Narcolepsy, Restless legs syndrome (RLS), and Periodic limb movement disorder (PLMD).
People who are concerned about occasional or frequent snoring also receive complete care at Prime Pulmonary & Sleep Center. Not everyone who snores has sleep apnea. However, snoring is the top symptom of sleep apnea, a condition that requires treatment to prevent serious health complications.
The pulmonary specialists at Prime Pulmonary & Sleep Center help patients with conditions such as Asthma, COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease), Bronchitis, Pneumonia, and Shortness of breath. Patients can receive Pulmonary function testing (PFT) in the office, as well as Lung cancer screening and Smoking cessation support.
