Philip Rosenthal, MD, is a board certified neurological surgeon practicing at Neurological Surgery Associates located in Bakersfield, California. He specializes in minimally invasive brain and spine surgery.  
He graduated from The University of Pennsylvania, where he began his research in brain metabolism while he was a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He was a member of two pre-medical honor societies. He continued his research on brain metabolism while earning his Master of Science at Temple University Medical School. Dr. Rosenthal graduated from Cornell University Medical College in New York City. He then completed his neurosurgery training at The State University of New York, Syracuse, and a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery with Joseph Maroon, MD, of the University of Pittsburgh. Recently, Dr. Rosenthal completed a research fellowship at the UC Davis Medical Center, where he participated in resident education. 
Dr. Rosenthal has authored and co-authored eight research articles and co-authored presentations delivered at international neurosurgery meetings in Korea, Thailand, Brazil, and the United States. Dr. Rosenthal has also been featured on television news for attracting patients from across the USA for minimally invasive spine surgery.
