I chose to become a rheumatologist because it is a specialty that allows me to use my knowledge of medicine to help people. Rheumatologic illnesses cause unnecessary suffering and, left untreated, can be debilitating. I focus on general rheumatology which includes the treatment of auto-immune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, vasculitis as well as other inflammatory arthritis's.
