First Command Financial Advisor - Ron Dennis

Ron Dennis joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in December 2016, following a 28-year career in the United States Navy, where he attained the rank of Commander. Ron understands the challenges and opportunities associated with life in the military and is committed to helping service members and their families get their financial lives squared away.

Ron has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Washington and a Master's degree in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is also a graduate of the Army's Command and General Staff Officer Course and the Joint Forces Staff College. He holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in VA, MD, DC, NY, FL, TX, and CO.

Understanding that the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behavior, Ron serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. He advocates time-tested financial principles, including disciplined, long-term saving and investing, careful debt management, and a thoughtful insurance strategy to manage financial risk. Ron will work with you to establish specific, meaningful goals that are consistent with your values and then develop a personalized financial plan to guide your pursuit of those goals.

Active in his community, Ron is a member of Calvary Church of Annandale and is a merit badge counselor within the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

In his free time, Ron enjoys golf, cooking, and hiking.
